Expressions of Interest are open for those who wish to participate in the full qualitative reseach day with Professor Silverman.

The full day program includes the two advertised lectures (Lecture 1 and Lecture 2)  as well as two workshops. You will also have an opportunity for a one-on-one appointment with Professor Silverman to discuss your research proposal.

It will particularly suit students familiar with constructionist perspectives and who are in early to mid-candidature; however anyone who intends to work with qualitative data in the future will find it extremely beneficial.

Please note that as there are limited places, you will be expected to commit fully to the entire day's program.

Register your interest by completing the Expression of Interest form.

EOIs close on 20 September 2020 and you will be informed of the outcome within 2 weeks.

About Research design

Your research degree requires the ability to apply "analytical and critical thinking skills to generate new knowledge, investigate problems and develop inventive solutions" (UQ HDR Graduate Attributes, 2017). This starts with determining the design of the research study through undersatnding and justifying the chosen methodologies and analytical methods. Building these skills during your research degree will equip you with the knowledge to apply them in a wide variety of contexts during your career.

The Graduate School has a range of sessions covering research methodolgy and methods delivered by esteemed providers such as ISSR.
