Over one weekend, partipants are challenged to find their crew and come up with the next hot business idea. With support from our team and mentors, by Sunday night, they prototype & validate their big idea and their team will deliver their pitch to our experienced panel of judges.

Theme: Sustainable Solutions
While environmental change is a huge part of sustainability this challenge is not limited to that avenue. Education, technology, health and relationships or anything with underlying faults can have a long-term solution — a sustainable one.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain a taste for what it’s like to create their own business and gain an understanding of what it takes to be an entrepreneur – from start to finish in just one weekend!

About Entrepreneurship & commercialisation

We are now entering a new era where there is demand for commercial returns of publicly funded research: research that is transformational, innovative and solution-focused. It is important for any researcher to understand the possibilities and processes that connect research outcomes to the generation of commercial intellectual property and the varied strategies for turning this commercial IP into new products, processes and services. UQ works actively in the entrepreneurship space with UQ pre-incubator Idea-hub, start up accellerator ilab, and UQ's commercialisation arm, Uniquest
