Express your interest now ahead of a valuable professional experience working on a discrete project within the commercial banking arm of Westpac Banking Corporation.

The project will measure the progress of finance applications or reviews from initiation, information gathering, submission (write-up), and through to decision.The ideal candidate will liaise with staff across South East Queensland and research practices and processes employed across the region. Some data analysis and interpretation will also be required.


  • Quantify and record timeframes
  • Highlight and overcome blockages

  • A report listing average turnaround time, barriers and enablers, and recommendations around key indicators to help measure performance


This placement will be 30 to 40 days in duration, either full-time or part-time by negotiation. The deadline for completion of the project is December 2017.

Financial support

On successful completion of this Placement, the successful candidate will be entitled to $3,000 Industry Experience Award payment, subject to the award Terms and Conditions.

Holders of UQ-administered scholarships will also be credited with 15 points towards the Career Development Scholarship Extension.

  • Experience applying analytical/evaluation skills to a problem to achieve a desirable outcome for an organisation/project.
  • Demonstrated capacity to synthesise high level research into a plain language report format.

Some travel may be required to numerous business locations, a driver’s license and vehicle may be an advantage to the applicant
