CSIRO in parternship with UQ's Graduate School, is offering to PhD candidates an opportunity to work in " The impact of Climate Change and Climate Vairability on Antimicrobial Resistance" project to develop their research and transferable skills through a HDR placement. PhD candidates with majoring in climate / environmental science / epidemiology / public health / health science or background are welcome to apply.

Intended start date: 06 October 2025.

Total days: 60 working days.

Location: CSIRO Australian e-Health research centre, Herston. To collaborate full time Monday to Friday at the office.

This placement is unpaid; however, if you meet the eligibilty criteria, you may be ablet to receive one of the Graduate School Scholarships. Please note that all PhD students are eligible to apply for this placement, regardless of their scholarship eligibility.

About the project

This project aims to develop a systematic review of the current literature on the impact of medium- and long-term changes in climate conditions on the evolution and spread of antimicrobial resistance following a research protocol that has been completed.

Key tasks:

  • Review and update the research protocol
  • Screen selected peer-reviewed studies to include in the review
  • Develop a database for data analysis (using Excel)
  • Draft the systematic review paper

Expected outputs:

  • Database for the systematic review
  • A draft of the review paper
  • Team/work presentation of the results
