The Graduate School Career Development Framework facilitates industry experiences, as Placements, to allow you to experience current practice and develop networks while demonstrating and strengthening your transferable, professional and research skills.

1. Eligibility & Scholarships

Placement eligibility

All PhD candidates can undertake an HDR Placement regardless of their scholarship eligibility.

Scholarship eligibility

You are eligible for funding if you:

  • Are enrolled as a PhD candidate
  • Formally submit your application and have your placement project approved via my.UQ within 18 months of your program commencement date (36 months if you are studying part-time).
  • Have completed a Graduate School-coordinated PhD Industry Placement for a minimum of 60 working days.
