In parternship with UQ's Graduate School, is offering to PhD candidates an opportunity to work with their reserach and innovation team to develop their research and transferable skills through a HDR placement. PhD candidates with a relevant background (e.g.,data science, biomedical sciences, immunology, virology) are welcome to apply.

Intended start date: 2026 (Specific date negotiable with the selected candidate).

Total days: 60 working days.

Location: Translational Research Institute TRI, Woolloongabba. QLD. To collaborate with our team 2-3 times a week at the office, work from home available the remainder of the week.

This Brisbane based placement offers a unique opportunity for the selected student to gain valuable industry experience and enhance their skills, while being mentored by inspirational leaders in a cutting-edge clinical trials project.

  • Contribute to the design and development of early-phase research and innovation projects.
  • Support landscape and literature reviews to inform strategy, identify trends, and shape project direction.
  • Undertake a research-led stakeholder mapping project, analysing institutional networks, scientific domains, and policy intersections to identify collaboration gaps, enablers, and strategic entry points for cross-sector engagement.
  • Work closely with internal and external teams to help translate scientific concepts into actionable plans.
  • Learn how industry drives innovation through structured project design, partnerships, and translational thinking.
