Indigenous Researcher Development
The University of Queensland is committed to fostering a culturally safe, supportive and empowering environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates. To support this commitment, the Graduate Research School (GRS) and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Unit (ATSISU) have partnered to establish the Indigenous Researcher Development (IRD) team.
How we can support you
The IRD team provides support across the HDR journey, including:
- Exploring HDR study and research opportunities at UQ
- Navigating HDR admissions and scholarships
- Connecting with supervisors and research communities
- Accessing professional development, mentoring and networking opportunities
- Providing guidance throughout candidature
- Supporting career development and pathways beyond the HDR
