NEW! Ethical and Productive Use of Generative AI Tools as an HDR Candidate [Webinar]
Goals
This workshop will build on (but does not depend upon) the first in the AI series by exploring in greater detail how generative AI tools can support your thinking and development as a researcher and academic writer. You will learn specific prompts you can try at each of the six stages of research writing, and the strengths, limitations and ethical considerations of the use of such prompts.
Come prepared to practice:
Throughout the workshop there will be opportunities to test some provided prompts on your own work, so please have on hand: (a) any research questions you have developed; and (b) samples of any writing you have done for your confirmation document or a research paper / thesis chapter.
About Writing skills
The ability to write well is critical to success in your research degree and a ‘top 10’ skill sought by employers. Learning the strategies for good writing will help you write efficiently. Knowing not only what to write, but how to write it for a particular audience, will help you communicate your research effectively.
