Read and Publish agreements progress the transition to open access publishing. UQ authors can publish their research in included open access journal titles utilising Library pre-paid APCs. The Library funds open publishing via a combined access and publishing cost.
This webinar will discuss the UQ Read and Publish agreements for 2024, and demonstrate a collection of tools that UQ Library have developed to assist in strategic decision making about publishing and considering open access pathways as part of the process. The workshop will:
- Explain Read and Publish agreements
- How to select journals based on:
- Impact Factor
- Subject area
- Coverage of an APC by a Read and Publish agreement
- Quartile
- How authors can adopt rights over their scholarly works using a Rights Retention Strategy
- How to comply with funder requirements via alternative publishing pathways
This workshop will offer advice and guidance on how to navigate Read and Publish agreements and journal selection.
About HDR Week
Celebrating the contribution our HDRs make to UQ and beyond.
HDR Candidates play an important role within The University of Queensland. HDR Week is a chance to celebrate our HDR candidates and thank them for their contributions. The week includes networking events, and social activities to recognise the hard work they put into their HDR journey and the important contribution they make to our university community. In 2024, in partnership with the UQ Association of Postgraduate Students (APS), we will celebrate HDR Week from 18-22 November.
