Promises, Perils and Possibilities: AI in Research and Scholarly Publishing
Join us for a dynamic event exploring the transformative role of artificial intelligence across the research lifecycle and the scholarly publishing process. Through a series of lightning talks from experts across UQ, including the Library, this session will unpack the opportunities, challenges and ethical considerations of AI in academic research. Whether you're curious about emerging technologies, concerned about research integrity, or keen to understand how AI is reshaping scholarly communication, this event offers valuable insights and lively discussion. Presenters: Associate Professor Tatsuya Amano, School of the Environment; Will Farmer, Senior Manager, Research Integrity; Martin Cvelbar, Librarian; and Michael Feeney, Senior Manager, Scholarly Communications and Repository Services. This is a hybrid event with limited seating for in-person attendance at the FW Robinson Reading Room, the Fryer Library, UQ St Lucia. Bookings are essential. The event will be livestreamed and recorded for those unable to attend in person. Please click ‘Register’ and it will take you to the options for booking in-person or online.
About HDR Week
Celebrating the contribution our HDRs make to UQ and beyond.
HDR Candidates play an important role within The University of Queensland. HDR Week is a chance to celebrate our HDR candidates and thank them for their contributions. The week includes networking events, and social activities to recognise the hard work they put into their HDR journey and the important contribution they make to our university community. In 2025, in partnership with the UQ Association of Postgraduate Students (APS), we will celebrate HDR Week from 24-28 November.
