In this webinar, content creator, and recent PhD graduate, Casey Fung, introduces a practical approach to using social media style content to communicate your research beyond the journal article. You will learn how to translate your research and its impact into social content that reaches a non-specialist audience, build a credible scholarly presence online, and use current AI creator tools to do it faster, without losing your own voice or judgement.

This session is built for an academic audience and assumes no prior experience with content creation or social platforms. It is suitable for researchers at any stage, with or without a communications background.

Note: come with one current research project or finding in mind, as you will start building content around it during the session.

About the presenter

Casey Fung is a content creator, university lecturer, recent PhD graduate, and former broadcast journalist. He has worked in communications and media roles across government, universities, and as a news reporter for the ABC and network Ten. He has a Bachelor of Journalism, Master of Science Communication, and PhD in Journalism.
