The Graduate School is seeking ten international HDR candidates to represent UQ at the prestigious Queensland Universities’ 2018 International HDR Experience and Employability Conference in Brisbane on July 30th. It's a one-day conference that will be held at Griffith University. You are not required to present at the conference, however there will be plenty of opportunities to participate in discussions.
This conference is part of a 2018-19 partnership project across all eight Queensland universities focusing on leadership, professional development, and employability. This project is co-funded with the support of the Queensland Government's International Education and Training Partnership Fund, managed by the International Education and Training Unit within Trade and Investment Queensland.
You will gain practical advice and strategies designed to enhance your employability. You will also have the opportunity to network with high profile speakers, guests, and successful Queensland HDR alumni from a range of employment sectors. The conference will give attendees a platform to provide input into discussions on the development and delivery of resources to assist all HDRs with their employability after graduation. All participants will receive founding membership in a newly formed network of international HDR students.
Ten representatives from each of the eight Queensland universities will be selected to attend the conference. These participants will also form a leadership network of international HDR ambassadors for Queensland with the option to participate in ongoing activities.
As a representative of The University of Queensland, you will receive financial assistance for your travel costs. You will also be able to include attendance at the conference as a point-bearing activity if you intend to apply for the Career Development Scholarship Extension.
You will need to have at least 12 months of your candidature remaining to be eligible to participate.
