Here are our tips to help you troubleshoot your registration and Zoom attendance in our online Career Development Framework (CDF) sessions:

Registering

CDF sessions will ask you to register so that your attendance can be correctly recorded in StudentHub. Please register with your student email address (e.g., s1234567@student.edu.au and NOT the UQConnect (e.g., firstname.lastname@uqconnect.net.au).

Receiving the link

The Zoom link will be sent approximately a week before the session. Remember to check your Junk mail folder (in your student mailbox and NOT your personal email) for the confirmation of registration email. You are welcome to email us two days before at graduateschool@uq.edu.au if you believe that you still have not received the Zoom links.

When you receive the link, you may wish to check your access. If you encounter any problems, please follow the troubleshooting steps below.

Joining the Zoom session

Please sign in using the web-based UQ domain https://uqz.zoom.us/ rather than the desktop version. Please do NOT sign into the standard public Zoom website as it will NOT be able to recognise UQ staff and students. See also, I'm receiving the Zoom message 'This meeting is for authorized attendees only'.

If you have never logged into Zoom with your student account, you will need to do that first; otherwise, Zoom will say that your account does not exist. Follow these instructions on how to download and sign in to UQ Zoom using SSO.

You may need to clear your cache or sign in using an 'incognito' or ‘private’ window. This is the most common issue: Your browser may automatically be logging you in with saved UQ staff or non-UQ credentials (external workplace credentials, for example). You might also try accessing the workshop in a different browser.

For your attendance to be correctly marked, do NOT use your staff email (first.lastname@uq.edu.au). Please join with your student credentials (e.g., s1234567@student.edu.au and NOT the UQConnect (e.g., firstname.lastname@uqconnect.net.au). Using your staff credentials may result in an ‘absence’ being recorded against your student account.

Absences

Please note that your attendance in at least 75% of the duration of the session is required to be marked as having attended. This requirement is mentioned in the workshop description in StudentHub and in the workshop reminder email.

If you are marked as ‘absent’ in 3 sessions booked through StudentHub in a 60-day period, your access to the booking system may be temporarily revoked for 14 days. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration via StudentHub prior to the event closing so that another person may use this space and to prevent you from being marked absent.

We hope this helps, and we will see you in the upcoming Career Development Framework (CDF) sessions!

If you continue to encounter any problems, you can contact the Graduate School at graduateschool@uq.edu.au or reach out for IT Support.
