Research Impact through Authentic Leadership [webinar]
This interactive workshop invites HDRs and ECRs to explore what leadership and impact mean in practice. Beginning with group activities that challenge traditional assumptions about who leaders are and what makes them effective, participants will examine diverse approaches to leadership and consider how these apply in research settings. Through reflection activities, they will map their strengths and growth areas, and discuss how these can be leveraged to make an impact on their own terms. By the end of the session, participants will have developed a personal leadership and impact statement and identified concrete actions to put their leadership into practice.
Learning outcomes:
- Define leadership and impact with examples in research contexts.
- Compare traditional and authentic leadership models and identify corresponding behaviours.
- Reflect on personal strengths and growth areas and document them using a structured tool.
- Write a one-sentence leadership and impact statement
You must attend at least 75% of the session otherwise you may be marked absent.
