6. Travel considerations

Placements can be undertaken either within Australia (domestic) or overseas (international).

Please note that the Graduate School does not cover travel or accommodation expenses. Some faculties may offer this financial support – please check directly with your faculty for more information.

International placements require significant planning, you should allow at least six months to organise all necessary arrangements.

If you are an international student, ensure your visa permits overseas travel for learning activities such as placements.

If your placement will be located more than 50km away from Brisbane, please refer to the UQ Student Travel Procedure and follow the required steps. You must submit the Student Travel Declaration Form prior to your travel.
